The Building Heat Pump Application Professional Committee of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency is established in Beijing——Prof. Baizhan Li is elected as the first Chairman of the Committee

The inaugural meeting of the "Building Heat Pump Application Professional Committee of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency" was held at the Xinjiang Hotel in Beijing on December 4, 2025. Jiangbo Ni, president of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency, vice president Wenzhong Chai and chief engineer Deying Li, professor Baizhan Li from Chongqing University, along with over 70 representatives from research institutes, universities, design institutes and engineering technology companies, heat pump technology supply enterprises, testing and certification bodies, jointly witnessed this significant moment for advancing building heat pump technology and industrial development. The inaugural meeting was chaired by Wenzhong Chai, vice president of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency.

Jiangbo Ni, president of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency delivered a speech, extending his warm congratulations on the establishment of the Professional Committee and expressing high expectations for its future work. He pointed out that the establishment of the Committee signifies a new stage of standardized and coordinated development in the building heat pump industry. He expressed hope that the Committee will effectively serve as a bridge and link, contributing to the national cause of building energy efficiency.

At the meeting, the "Approval Document of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency on the Establishment of the Building Heat Pump Application Professional Committee" was announced. All attending representatives reviewed and voted to adopt the "Working Regulations of the Building Heat Pump Application Professional Committee of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency" and the "Voting and Election Procedures of the Building Heat Pump Application Professional Committee of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency." Through election, the first leadership body of the Professional Committee was formed, and certificates were issued to the elected members.

Professor Baizhan Li, the newly elected chairman, stated in his inaugural speech that he deeply felt the weight of his responsibilities and the honor of his mission. He analyzed and outlined the key priorities for the Professional Committee’s future work, calling on all committee members and industry colleagues to unite and collaborate, striving to build the Committee into an influential, credible, and cohesive core organization for the industry.

Driven by the "Dual Carbon" goals, energy conservation and carbon reduction in the construction sector have become a national strategic priority. As a core technology for efficiently utilizing renewable energy and achieving low-carbon transformation in building heating and cooling, the large-scale and high-quality development of building heat pump technology is of paramount importance. The establishment of the Professional Committee responds to the demands of the times, aiming to create a platform for deep integration of "industry, academia, research, and application." It seeks to consolidate industry resources, drive technological innovation, establish standards and norms, and promote the widespread adoption of building heat pump technology in the field of building energy efficiency, thereby advancing industrial upgrading.

At the first working meeting of the Professional Committee, representatives of the project lead units engaged in discussions and exchanges on the Committee's work plans, heat pump application solutions for different climate zones, policy research, and standards development.

The successful conclusion of this inaugural conference signifies that China's building heat pump industry now possesses a unified, high-level industry organization. It not only provides a platform for communication and collaboration among all stakeholders but also lays a solid foundation for industrial policy research, exploration of technological pathways, and the standardization of market order. Attendees unanimously expressed their commitment to taking the establishment of the Professional Committee as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation, advance together, and promote the high-quality development of building heat pump applications.
